The game is set in a **HATCH CORP** laboratory built around one giant egg. New areas open as you finish work orders and dig deeper. *"Who built this laboratory? Why are you here?"*

## Main areas

| Area | What's there |
|---|---|
| **Containment bay** | The egg. Shutters open at shift start. The Lab Gateway is the main entrance. |
| **Employee quarters** | Your personal room and bunk. Be here at shift end. Personal doors can be locked. |
| **Resource Depot** | Sell point for fragments and materials. Opens through early work orders. |
| **Company Store / Equipment Supply Depo** | Tool and gear shop, behind an access card. See [Tools](https://crack-wiki.pages.dev/tools/). |
| **Break room** | Arcade cabinets, basketball hoop, pills. Mandatory breaks happen here. |
| **Staff room / game room** | Slot machines and the prize wheel. Unlocks over time. |
| **Garage** | Golf carts for hauling. Garage terminals unlock the doors. |
| **Robotics bay** | Workbots. Opens mid-game. |
| **Processor** | Takes parasites (before they explode) and certain minerals. |
| **Sedative computer** | Limited injections to calm the egg. |
| **Monitoring station** | Shows the egg's agitation meter. |
| **Funds transfer device** | Send money to coworkers. |

## The sleep gas hallway

At the end of each shift, **green sleep gas** fills the corridors. A sign warns: *"Personnel remaining on the floor will be penalized."* Get into your quarters first. Falling 10 m after being knocked out by the gas unlocks **Out Cold** (1.0%).

## Secrets & hidden areas

The lab is full of hidden doors and locked rooms. Here's what's known:
